What is the complete catalog number(s) of your PLC and your Panelview?

The general answer is "yes", but there are combinations of older PLC-5 controllers and newer PanelView or PanelView Plus terminals that will not communicate over Ethernet. Post the exact part number of your PanelView terminal. This will start with 2711 or 2711P. Post the exact model or part number of your PLC-5 controller, including the Series Letter and the Firmware Revision. This will allow Forum members who are familiar with both products to advise you. This is also the sort of question that Rockwell Automation Technical Support could answer in a couple of minutes.

Thanks for reply, I'm using PLC-5/40E F series(cat no.1785-l40E) and PLC_5/20E (CAt no. 1785-l20E) HMI 2711p-RDT10c Edited by saamy

Since it is a PLC-5/40E Series F, it has the newest protocols and hardware and can definitely communicate with the PanelView Plus terminal over Ethernet. The PLC-5/20E must be one of these Series and Firmware Revisions or later: Series F revision ASeries E revision D.1Series D revision E.1Series C revision N.1
