V2.11 (2) "Failed to launch server application"

2 posts in this topic

This message shows on startup with a particular project. After acknowledgement the project -seems- to run fine, Ethernet comms to 7 CJ series CPU's are ok, no performance degrade as far as I can tell, although startup loading takes pretty long. It even shows up when lauching the runtime application offline (unlicensed). Anyone knows what it refers to? Is it a CX-Server related error? I would like to get rid of it....

Gladly the Omron CXS specialists helped me out with this one. It turned out that I had an unused Modbus TCP control in the point editor. Probably left when I installed the Modbus TCP driver out of curiosity. I added some OPC/Other tags to see how they need to be configured and removed them afterwards. But if the project runs on a system that doesn't have the Modbus TCP driver installed it gives this error. The workaround to remove the control is as following and has to be done on a machine which has the Modbus driver installed (otherwise it locks up when opening the OPC/Other comms control from the point editor). From a random point property window select OPC/Other at I/O attributes Select Setup Select the Modbus TCP control from the server pull down menu Select > at the right hand side Select delete I can imagine this error will show up if any comms control is left in the list which isn't installed anymore on the target machine. The same steps can be followed to remove it.
