  1. Sorry for slow reponse, but discovered I associated an old roadrunner account for mrplc.com. I am aware of 2 issues for the RSLinx download. The corruption issue should be resolved. The other issue is the size and we are still working on getting the smaller footprint of RSLinx posted. Thanks, Rick
  2. Sorry folks but have been busy on our new Connected Components Workbench softwre and my e-mail notification for this site is apparently broken... There is a new posting of the English version of RSLogix Micro Lite. It now supports the Series B MicroLogix 1100 fully. I see there are some posts on Windows Vista and Windows 7. This new version has been tested with Windows 7, but some of the RSLinx drivers won't be 64-bit until mid-2011. I have posted an update to RSLinx on the RA MicroLogix page too. So, if you have not already, please update it too. It is a much larger download, so it is now a seperate download link. See http://www.ab.com/programmablecontrol/plc/micrologix/downloads.html Kind regards, Rick
  3. There are only 2 free Starter editions of RSLogix . The original free version was RSLogix 500 Starter 10 point. It has been replaced by RSLogix Micro Starter Lite. If you only need to program MicroLogix 1000 and 1100, RSLogix Micro Starter Lite will do. If you want to program the larger MicroLogix, you'll need RSLogix Micro Starter. If a distributor tried to sell you a Starter edition and Starter Lite would suffice, keep in mind the Lite edition is only 2 months old... If you are looking for the RSLogix Micro comparison sheet, you can get it at: http://literature.rockwellautomation.com/i...pp001_-en-p.pdf
  4. Good to hear you found RSLogix Micro Lite and thanks to Bill for posting the link. As I am new to the forum, I wasn't sure whether the embedded URL would work. There is no catalog number for it, because it cannot be ordered. It is only available as a download. The RSLogix Micro product is available on DVD as 9324-RLM0100ENE for the Starter edition. It is the same capability as the Lite edition, but supports all the MicroLogix controllers and adds Connected Components Building Blocks (C2B2). C2B2 is a set of application aids (BOMs, drawings and code) and is free too. However, it is too big to download. It can be ordered at: http://www.rockwellautomation.com/components/connected/ The latest C2B2 also includes RSLogix Micro Lite. So, indirectly you can order it on media. I gather the Vista comms issue was with the serial connection? Let me know. Would be good to know if you have the same issue on XP too. Thanks, Rick
  5. Another update for your consideration... RSLogix Micro Lite has replaced RSLogix 500 Starter 10 point. It is available on the Rockwell Automation website (see Products/Product Directory/PLCs/MicroLogix/downloads) as a FREE download (no activation or registration are needed). RSLogix Micro Starter Lite supports ALL current MicroLogix 1000 and 1100 controllers. This is many more controllers than the previous RSLogix 500 download allowed. The software comes with or without RSLinx Classic driver software. Without RSLinx, the download is around 32 Mbytes. This edition can be used for offline logic development. If you want to download and monitor a program, you'll need RSLinx Classic (it adds about another 100 Mbytes to the download). Even with RSLinx included, the download is much smaller and installs much more readily. With the smaller footprint, the download was also reduced to a single file. Finally, where supported in the MicroLogix controller, run-time (online) editting can be done with RSLogix Micro Lite.
