  1. Intouch Wonderware with Siemens S7 -400

Try to search the help file in SMC - System Management Console. Best regards,
  2. Thank you very much for the above replies. Hi IO_Rack, I will try out the method you stated above and see if I can get the same result. Thank you.
  3. Hi All, Another question, I have done the program conversion from CQM1 CPU41 to CJ2M CPU13(actually I just copy the whole program rungs and paste them to the new PLC project file) and remapped all the I/O addresses. I understand that the address type "DM" in CQM1 will have to change them to "D" and timer contact "TIM" will change to "T". E.g. "DM100 == D100", "TIM010 == T0010". How about for "HR"? Would "HR25.13 == H25.13" in CJ2M CPU13? Thanks a lot. Best regards, KenWei
  4. Thank you very much.
  5. Hi all, May I know how can I upload the PLC program file included the "IO table and unit setup"? Recently I just uploaded a CQM1-CPU41 PLC program (by Go Online then Transfer from PLC) and I realized only the program has been uploaded. There is no "IO Table and Unit Setup" field in the project file. I've read thru some articles, Is it the proper procedure to upload a PLC project file is to create a new project and select the correct CPU, once the new project file has been created, double click on the "IO table and Unit Setup" and the PLC IO Table page will appear. Then select from Options --> Transfer from the PLC to upload the IO Table? I don't have any PLC with me to try it out now, hope someone with the experience can explain and advise me how to do it. Thank you very much! Best regards,
  6. Hi there, I really need your professional advise. I have a 412-5H PLC set and it link to the IM 153-2. The CP card is install at the IM rack. I have configured the parameters for the CP341 card (I am not sure if i configured correctly), and in my program, i use FB80 and downloaded FB7 and FB8 as I understand that the FB80 will call them internally. The CP card is serve as a modbus slave to give data to a DCS system. I'm using the modscan32 for simulation as the DCS system is not here. From the PLC diagnostic buffer, I got the error as below, Event 1 of 22: Event ID 16# 2523 Area length error when writing Instance DB, word access, Access address: 602 FB number: 7 Module address: 30 Requested OB: Programming error OB (OB121) Priority class: 1 Internal error, Incoming event 10:33:05.834 AM 05/05/2014 (Coding: 16# 2523 0179 8E25 025A 0007 001E) Event 16 of 22: Event ID 16# 2522 Area length error when reading Instance DB, byte access, Access address: 650 FB number: 7 Module address: 54 Requested OB: Programming error OB (OB121) Priority class: 1 Internal error, Incoming event 10:33:05.828 AM 05/05/2014 (Coding: 16# 2522 0179 8E15 028A 0007 0036) I selected 2 errors for your reference. For Event 16, the access address is 650, but my understanding, the instance DB has the length of 604 bytes. Why FB7 is looking for address 650? Is the Instance DB is not big enough?
  7. S7-400 redundant PLC went crazy

Yes, I changed all the TEMP addresses to memory M address and it works fine now. Thanks.
  8. Siemens PLC Time Synchronization by a pulse

Hi Moggie, Thank you so much. It works perfectly for me. Best regards,
  9. Siemens PLC Time Synchronization by a pulse

Hi Moggie, From the help file, SFC0 "SET_CLK" input type is (e.g "DT#2014-03-04-10:30:30") which the date will be set also? Meaning everyday when PLC received the pulse, the clock then runs starting from the set time and set date? Is there anyway I can set only for time HH:MM:SS? For example, the set time is "12:00:00", tomorrow when the PLC received the pulse, the PLC clock should become "2014-03-05-12:00:00" and next day "2014-03-06-12:00:00"... Thanks.
  10. Hi all expert, I have a standalone Siemens S7-400 PLC and I would like to set the time daily by an input DI signal. The DI will send a pulse to the PLC everyday at the same time, let says 12:00:00. How can i achieve this? Thanks. Hope I can get this done soon. Best regards, Ken
  11. S7-400 redundant PLC went crazy

Hi all, I have a set of s7-400 Simatic H station with CPU 412-5 H PN/DP, redundant system. I have done my program in FBD logic and completed all the logic test successfully. then I added some program for AI signals where I use the FC105 scale function and some comparison blocks to generate some alarm bit signals. After I downloaded my program (I created new FC for the the AI signal logic), my existing DO points went crazy as the output keep "On" and "Off" alternately. I am sure that my logic for the AI signals are correct. After further diagnostic, I suspected the error is from the function called "Midline Output". All these Midline output have assigned to "TEMP" address. So at the end I changed all these Midline to memory address, and my system is working fine now. My question is why can this happen? Basically all the program, logic are remain the same, just by changing the temp address (which was successfully tested) to memory M address. Is Siemens have some bugs in their Simatic software? Or just I'm stupid enough to make the PLC went crazy? Thanks. Best regards,
  12. Hi all, I would like to do a system backup for a Wonderware Intouch 9.5. I managed to backup the project file simply by copy the entire application folder. But I have no idea how can I backup the SMC configuration setting. Should I just copy the ".aacfg" file type? In fact, I going to upgrade the wonderware Intouch 9.5 to 10.5, the existing system is running on WindowsXP and the new PC come with Windows 7 OS. Do anyone have any suggestion or advise, anything should I take note of? Sorry for the broken english.. Thanks.
  13. Hi Moggie, Meaning that i can only get the part numbers by checking the physical product on site? Anyway, I've asked my client to copy down all the part numbers for me. Thanks.
  14. Thanks for your reply. I understand that s7 manager can read all the info of the modules using in the project, but I just couldnt find in s7 micro.
  15. Hi all, Is it possible for me to find out the hardware used from the uploaded S7-200 PLC program? e.g. EM277 profibus module, PLC model etc.. I'm using STEP7-Micro/WIN software to open the program file. Thanks. Ken~
