Hello teal854t, Greetings GE fanuc Nano-Micro PLC series uses Versapro / Proficy software . Proficy is latest software for the same . (Veraspro & Proficy will both communicate to Micro PLC) I am not sure for 9 Pin to 15 pin configuration. But there is serial cable [9 -pin & RJ 45 ] that i used for communication using USB to serial convertor. As our laptop was not having serial port. LM Software is dos based software it was used in erlier days in past . Thanks & regards 2shar

The 23 & 28 point GE Fanuc VersaMax Micro's have a 15 pin RS-485 port, the 14 point units do not. All have RJ45 (Ethernet Style) RS-232 port. The 20, 40, and 64 point have an optional 2nd port. this may be empty or have either a USB, or RJ45 port that can be either RS-232, RS-485, or Ethernet. Confusing, but versatile. The only software that works with all of them is Proficy ME (Machine Edition).

Hi, I remeber i was testing RS-232 to RS-485 converter ADAM make, I used PC serial port + RS485 + GE micro 28 point PLC. 9 pint 15 cable can work through any RS 232 to RS-485 converter. Thanks 2shar

Thanks for the reply. I have 9 pin to 15 pin cable that I used for Logixmaster. Does it work on VersaMax (28 point Micro PLC)? The 28 point has both 15 pin and RJ45 plugs. Where can I find pin layout for 9 pin to RJ45? I like to make one. I have Versapro Ver1.1. Does it work with my VersaMax 28 point PLC? Thanks

Hello, teal854t Grettings, 9-15 cable that you have may or may not work, i have never used it. I read manual for GE versamax PLC. There is pin connection detail in PDF manual. In this manual Chapter communication expalins 9 pin & RJ45 cable pin outs/connection. There may be PDF in your versamax setup folder, Please go trough it. I have that manual but rigt now i am out of station from my work place. Have nice time Thanks & regards, Tushar

I made a RS232 to RJ45 adapter to plug into my serial port on my laptop to the RJ45 plug on my 28 I/O Micro. I cannot communicate. I borrowed a RS232 to RS485 adapter and plugged into the same Micro on the RS485 plug and am able to communicate - nothing else changed. Any ideas?

The two ports are independent of each other, and could be set up differently.

In Navigator, under Main Rack, I right click on my IC200UDR005, left click on configure, Port 1 and Port 2 are configured the same.

Verify that the parameters are correct. (Same on ports at both ends of the cable.) Default for the Micro is 19,200 baud, 8 data bits, odd parity. Verify that your cable is correct. GEIP Series 90 Cables Edited by RussB

I will be amazed if the new key has any impact on this. You can connect through port2 according to a previous post. You can then Upload the hardware configuration from the CPU and make the configurations in hardware and software "Equal". Good luck and please let us know what you find. Edited by RussB
