  1. PLC for camera system

Yes, I could do it without a PLC, but I dont want to burn up a $5000 camera controller without going through a PLC or a buffer relay. By discrete I mean there is no direct contacts on the camera system to come off of to do what I want, and I would like room for expansion. I looked up the FX3G, but they were a bit out of our price range. I found a FX1N-40MR for around $400. This should be more than enough for what I need. Thank you for your reply!
  2. PLC for camera system

We just installed a new camera system for our Layup line. Our camera system uses a binary input and output instead of discret inputs and outputs. Im looking to get a small Mitsubishi PLC for this system. I will need at least 16 inputs and 16 outputs but would like some spares. I have only worked with the Q Series and a very small brick FX. Would a FX1N-40 MR-ES/UL be plenty for what im needing with 24 in and 16 out. The camera system sends out the binary for diffrent alarms. All I want do is take whenever I get one of those inputs to fire a output to the strobe light. Also I need to know if I can use GX Developer to program with. I know you can use GX with the FX1S, but im not sure about FX1N. Thanks for you help!
  3. Wonderware InTouch V7.1

I am trending data from a Mitsubishi Q06 to the Wonderware InTouch V7.1. I created my trend chart and got it working. My problem is that its not updating my data. I have to go to the development screen and then back to the runtime screen to get my data to update. I tried logging into the Wonderware help forum but there is a problem with me logging in. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks
  4. How to enable Overides?

Yeah, thats the Override Editor i'm looking for.
  5. How to enable Overides?

Yes, I am using DirectNet. All my others I am using ECOM with the Ethernet Cards. This one doesn't have a card so Im using a direct connection to the PLC. I have never setup one with K-Sequence? Is there anything special I need to run it on K-Sequence? Thanks
  6. How to enable Overides?

Yes, it is on a toolbar. I can see the override button on the toolbar but it is greyed out and I can not use it? I have moved the button to other places and still greyed out. I am online and have tried everything I could to use this function. All my other programs this button is not greyed out, but in color and I can override (force) items in the PLC. I am testing some new equipment and I am having to write everything to test stuff on here and the override fuction will help out alot!

  8. How to enable Overides?

It still isn't highlighted for me to use? I have all of them selected, Pause, Override, and Status. The Pause and Status buttons are availible but not the Override button?
  9. How to enable Overides?

Im going to go try and see if that did it.
  10. How to enable Overides?

Yes, it is DSL5 software. The Override is right beside the Pause bits on the upper left corner. I went under the Data view tab under bit display setting and I had it selected but when you click on the ON or OFF, what is the little icons that shows up?
  11. How to enable Overides?

We have quite a bit of programs in our plant and most of our programs the Override icon on the program is available to use. The program I am working with today doesn't have that option available. I created this program from scratch so I don’t know if I left something out in the beginning. How do I enable this so I can force items in the PLC? Thanks
  12. Control Logix Output Card

Thank you Ron! This PLC isn't connected to a "must keep it running machine". This PLC was way overkill for what it is being used for. It opens three valves that put solvents in a small 10 gallon tank. I was just asking because I heard that was one of the things the control logix could do, was be able to add cards while the PLC was (Hot). Most of the ones I have dealt with you was suppose to kill it before adding any cards. My issue is at my plant I have to be proficent with Mitsubishi Q06, FX, Allen Bradley Pico, Micro, SLC, Compact, and Control Logix, Siemens S5, Automation Direct 05's, 06's and so on. So I have my hands full sometimes. I have heard of you and would love to take some of your courses sometime down in Charleston! Thank you for your help!
  13. Control Logix Output Card

I am actually adding a new output card. I am familiar with the SLC I/O config but not with the Control Logix. Where is the I/O config on the screen? Also BobLfoot, I am running version 15. Thanks!
  14. I am adding on some new items to our existing Control Logix and have heard that you can add a card or swap cards while the processor is on and running. Is this true? Also, when I install my new output card do I have to do an I/O Configure on the PLC or is it done for you? Simple questions I know but im new to the Control Logix. Thanks!
  15. Honeywell UDC 3500

"The Honeywell UDC3500 controllers are acting solely as signal converters and damper controllers, and the KFM controller is the master with the PID control. Does the KFM controller support dual/multiple PID loops with separate outputs? If the 2 dampers are to run independantly of each other, then they should probably have isolated PID control loops (i.e., be driven by separate controllers - such as the UDC3500). I have no experience with the KFM controller." Yes the first part is true! The KFM doesn't support multiple PID loops. They dampers dont run independantly, the have to equal 100% flow between the both of them ex 70% 30%. The KFM controller is obselete also, and our plant was built by germans with all german equipment. The attachment is our RSView screen that gives a idea of what im dealing with. The KFM controls the oil temps by the dampers GS114 and GS115. The Oil is heated by the hot air from our incinerator. GS 115 is the one giving me problems. Doc1.doc
