I've used the following setup for a micrologix to a flexlogix. This should be the same for you. The following message would reside in the compactlogix. Source element is starting address in micro. Destination element is INT array. The path would be the name of your ethernet port followed by a comma 2 (directs out ethernet side of port) and a comma then ip of micrologix.

A Micrologix uses almost the same protocols as a SLC 5/05. I believe the only change is that they deleted the older PLC-5 protocols and kept only the CSP/CIP ones (not PCCC). If you are reading/writing from CompactLogix to Micrologix, use a MSG instruction and browse right to it. If you are going from Micrologix to the CompactLogix, it's a bit more complicated. First, read the CompactLogix manual for how to set up communication with a SLC 5/05 and follow those instructions. You have to set up controller memory in a certain way to allow the Micrologix to map to the CompactLogix memory space. Second, if you are using serial communication (DF-1), everything should work fine. If you want to do Ethernet, there are some additional considerations. With a Micrologix 1100, it will work as-is. With the other Micrologix processors, they don't have any capacity for using Ethernet at all. You will have to buy/use a NET ENI module and set up the CompactLogix as a port attached to that module (so that the actual IP address is in the NET ENI module, not the MSG instruction in the Micrologix). Then you can use conventional multihop MSG's to make it work. Read the NET ENI manual carefully to understand how to do this.
