DIY CO2 Controller

3 posts in this topic

Guys, I find CO2 controllers to be too expansive and ugly at 500 $ How can I Take a CO2 sensing chip read it it's signal compare the signal to equal or above a value turn on an AC plug (Type B) when below value, OFF when above valueBaiscally, I want to make a CO2 controller myself (soldering on board, buy individual components, put in a box) This will release CO2 in the room through a solenoid when below 1200 ppm, and shut off the solenoid when above 1200 ppm IF I'm on the wrong forum, could you advice where to ask ? Thank you ! Dominique

http://www.openhomeautomation.net/wireless-co2-sensor-arduino/ Here's an Arduino based project to get you pointed in the right direction. Remember that Arduino isn't production environment ready. The above linked project is meant for hobbyist, not professionals. If you're building something that is being used to keep people safe, you should use a professional grade, certified product.

Spend the money on a certified product - not worth the risk C02 is nasty stuff and kills people! There should also be a visible and audible alarm from a C02 detector sensor in the room so no one goes in and gets killed from lack of oxygen. Geez - talk about take a risk! Hope you have heavy insurance and they will not pay if the setup is not done right with certified products! I would not be game - have no desire to finish up in jail for a minimum of manslaughter!
