Posted 23 Nov 2014 Make sure Proficy Machine Edition is configured to communicate using the same COM port that your USB/serial converter sets itself up to use.
Posted 23 Nov 2014 If the problem is not where Steve suggests please tell us: What is the PLC part number? What port on the PLC are you using? What is the part number or pin-out of your cable?
Posted 24 Nov 2014 Dear Sir, Thanks for replay. PLC part NO is: Versa max IC200UDR164-AD I am using COM3 with communication data 1 odd 19200 and I tried all the possible communication data. The cable pin-out is: DB9F RJ45 1 - 2 4 3 3 4 5 5 8 6 6 7 2 8 1 9 7 The DB9 female numbering is as it's written the RJ45 : the clamp plastic to ground side , the copper pins to sky and the cable in the other side not my side. I tried using Serial communication utility and make test Also Loop back... For my USB to serial I tried to communicate with drives and it's working OK. Posted 24 Nov 2014 If the cable is correct, you should veriy IC200CBL500 should verify the USB to Serial device works with PME and the SNP protocol. If those check out it is likely that the port on the PLC has had one or more of the parameters changed by the developer. Did you check documenttaion? I have seen parity changed to "none" and the baud adjusted to match a modem, usually 9600 baud. If the cable was custom made, my bet is there.
