SLC5/01

Hello Everyone,
We have a machine with a SLC 5 plc, the machine is down with CPU Fault light flashing. I can turn on the motor and see input LED lights indicating buttons pressed. But the machine will not cycle, the last time this occurred a local tech reset the CPU. Is there a way that I can do this? As the tech we had used is no longer around.

Thanks

RSLinx and Ethernet devices

Hello.

I have a 1761-NET-ENI Ser.B FRN 2.31.

RSLinx version installed: RSLinx Gateway version: 2.42

Rockwell publication : 1761-UM006E-EN-P august 2005.

Cables: 1761-PM02 and Ethernet cable (don't know how you say in English but the one with wires crossed).

Problem: Device not recognized.

I'm familiar with creating drivers through the Configure driver pop up screen. My version of RSLinx doesn't provide the second example of pop up seen on the page 3-6. I don't have the "Find device" button.

On page 3-7 there is a tip for the latest ENI. The link provided doesn't work.

There must be a connection between the PC and the ENI because the icon for the ethernet has no X on it when both are connected.

Is this an issue where you need a tech connect to obtain help?

thank you again.

1768 Selection guide

Does anybody have a system qualifier for 1768 & 1769 systems? I have never put together a 1768 system so I haven't seen anything on the slots away from the processor. I found where I could use the L43 with (16) 1769 cards and (2) 1768 card. I just can't find out that goes where. I maybe over looking the forest because of all these leaves on the ground.

Panelview Plus 400

I have been working on a simple program that interfaces the PP400 with a Micrologix 1000 Analog. I have been successful with most of this except for inputting numbers into the screen that are supposed to go into the register. They are moving through the tags fine, but I was hoping to do the math in the panelview and send the converted result to the 1000. I am converting motor rpms and vacuum pressure into values that control the analog 4-20mA signal. The second difficulty I am having with this is I would like the screen to diplay the last input number, respectively. Instead I get ???? on one and #### on the other. Any Ideas?

- Lost as the Bills-

BCD Absolute Encoder

I have Hohner absolute encoder with MS-137BR01/360 with bcd output 10 bits, I want to connect to 1769-IQ16F (CPU 1769-L35E) and comvert to decimal using FRD instruction on RSLOgix 5000.
How to configure the connection to 1769-IQ16F? It is fast enough to read the actual machine position? How to zero the encoder?
Thank you for any suggestion or ideas.
Patty
