Program Function List for Q-series PLC

Hey all,

I was just wondering... Is there a comprehensive function manual for the Q-series PLC's? We have one from a long time ago for the FX PLC's and it had every function and an explanation of what it did as well as some examples of how to use it. Is there anything like that for the newer PLC's? I know there are many more functions now-a-days and it would be a pretty big book but it would be very useful.

Mitsubushi FX3U-2HSY -ADP Modules

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I am confused. I am trying to write the ladder logic for a Mitsubushi FX3U PLC that is connected to two FX3U-2HSY-ADP high speed pulse modules. I am comunicating with MR-E Servo drives. Hopefully someone out there has experienced this marriage and can give me a starting point. I have been thru the Mits Manuals and talked to the tech Reps , but I'm still lost. Thanks: Dennis

Rolling Average / exponential smoothing

Hello,

Does anyone know if there is a way to perform a rolling average function using a special function block in IEC Developer ? I know that there are function blocks using Allen Bradley which can perform this function but can't find one with Mitsubishi. If I were to manually program this I'd need to make an array and then use a pointer and this would be hard for myself to program. I would use this function to monitor machine performance over time and it would give me an average over time. Any fluctuation to this average and I would see a change in machine behaviour which could possible mean that something is failing. Another function which could possibly work is an 'exponentialsmoothing ' fuction. I'm also not sure if there is a function block which can do this.

Another way

Thanks for any help,

Ben
