Posted 21 Sep 2006 Hi, On some relays, like Allen-Bradley relays, they mention it has an "Integrated Diode". Does that keep noise off the line when the coil energizes? Thanks, P
Posted 21 Sep 2006 It absorbs the "flyback" energy generated from the coil when its de-energized and its magnetic field collapses, protecting the PLC outputs that it is connected too. Its standard in all of our customer specs.
Posted 21 Sep 2006 Lenz's Law connect two wires to a 24VDC contactor. strip the other ends so you can hold bare wire when connecting it to power supply. if there is no diode accross contactor coil, your colegues will have laugh when you try to disconnect...
