Servo drive simulator

2 posts in this topic

Hi all, Did any one use a "analog servo drive simulator"? This is a device you connect to your analog motion controller instead of servo drive for debugging. In this case you can develop and debug your motion and CNC programs in the office just with motion controller and without any servo drives and motors. In ideal this device should have: +/-10V analog input -> [blackbox] -> A/A- B/B- output. Powered from encoder connector (+5V) or external 24VDC It should output around 40-50kHz at 10V input to simulate 2000rpm motor with 1250 pulse encoder Anyone makes it? Or this is a dead idea. I have friend who told me he can make 1 axis device for $200 or 2 axis for $250. Much more, than I am willing to pay. It may be much cheapper if he makes few. Any interest? I know analog drive are history, but still a lot of places using them. I think this device will be really handy. Alex

Ok guys, first simulator is ready and working! Not a full version, but works great. Now I can debug my motion programs without any servo drives, motors, encoders. It has +/-10V input and A/B otuput. +5V power source. No Enable and Zero maker signals yet. Also it may need a balance pot, but overall idea is working. If anyone intersted let me know. micromet@adelphia.net Alex
