diff upp/down question

Hi Silly question maybe : Wouldn't it be easyer if one could declare a diff up or down function directly to an input or contact, instead of declaring it to an output? Ste

You can do that now with Omron's CS1. However I believe that it makes it difficult in troubleshooting.

In my opinion, program is much more readable if you don't have to declare separate bits as rising and falling edge signals. I really like what some brands offer (in this example Mitsubishi) regarding one shots. This way my input is same throughout program. It makes program shorter as well. More over you can make output instructions to act on edge signals (INCP instead of INC, MOVP instead of MOV etc.). I really like SLC500 family of PLCs but if something is annoying me it is the way they handle one shots. hope this helps Edited by panic mode
