Automation Direct Memory Allocation

2 posts in this topic

Just curious what the "users" of this product line are using for memory allocation. For example... User Variables, User Constants, HMI PushButtons, ect. Has anyone came up with a generic standard or do you just "Wing IT"?? I am using a DL260 CPU. Thanks Edited by TechJunki

'Wing It' is my generic standard. Actually it started out with a nicely organized table with the machine designers saying 'oh - there won't be any more'. Then, of course, there's some customer who wants just a little bit more and it kind of messes up the table, but this is 'just for this one time'. Then it's 'can we do it just like that one customer but with just a few more?'. And on and on. The tables are a bit of a mess now. As I said - 'Wing It' is our generic standard.
