UM Property

I have a PLC that I am trying to dowload a program to, and it is saying that it cannot download because the PLC's UM Property is protected. Can anyone tell me what this is and how to fix it? this is a new PLC.

UM is User Memory or the actual PLC program. It's saying that the UM is protected. This can be due to software settings or hardware settings. What PLC, Chris?

its a CPM1A... I actually misread what the error was.. it is saying that the UM Property is set for read only.

Hello Chris, Try this... Open up the 'Change PLC' dialogue, and select the 'Settings' button for Device Type. There's a CheckBox there that sets the Program Area to be 'Read Only'. If this is checked, then you will not be able to download the program. Let us know if this helps. Regards anonymous.
