Unitronics PLC problem

Hello! I want count the feet of cable…. For that I have a prox that detect bars on the wheel. (1 pulse) The diameter of my wheel is 57 inch There are 7 bars on the wheel thus we have 8.1429 inch/bar The plc don’t take commas ….. I can’t tell 1 pulse = 0.6785 feet!!! How can I have this value in feet? My friend tell me: take your pulse and multiplie by 6785 et divide by 10000 I have try this but we have a value up to 32767…. Thanks! Dany

Hello jblkiller, I did one project with a Unitronics PLC the OPLC Vision280. This PLC have floats so you can calculate in comma's. The limit for an integer is 32767 but Unitronics also support longs 2,147,483,647 and double words 4,294,967,296 so calculation is not a problem. Best regards, Henry Lamboo

Are you trying to display a final value, or the value as it accumulates? Also, are you using an M90 or an M91? What is the frequency of the pulses? Are you using the HSC or a normal input? TM Edited 14 Oct 2005 by timothymoulder
