Program Crash

3 posts in this topic

I have a plc with a fault line on....when I try to go online I get an error saying there is a CRC or NVRAM error to load it from the EPROM. The system was not install with it. How can I get online to find the error and others if there is more. I don't have a copy of the original ladder. :-8

Do: - Who active go online - select the processor - create new file You will go online without the database, but you could clear fault condition.

The program in the PLC is corrupt. CRC stands for cyclic redundancy check I.e a checksum for the program. There may be a problem with the internal memeory or a power surge may have corrupted the memory. If you don't have the software you may be in deep do-do. Contact the PLC vendor help desk to see if they can help further. :*-(
