Posted 22 Nov 2019 Trying to program production tracking in Do-More 2.3. Need to track current Date, Time of day & current hour. Anyone have an example of how time of day is used? I have done this in Allen Bradley 5000, but this Automation Direct stuff is new to me.
Posted 23 Nov 2019 I'm not up on the Do-More PLC's. Used one once, Liked the Click's better. Heck, I like them better than the micrologix. Other than that give me some compactlogix love. But check with these guys, https://forum.automationdirect.com/forum/general-applications/do-more-series-plc
Posted 25 Nov 2019 Current date and time is all in a structure called $Now. You can also use your own date and time structures or use the built in structure; UDTx..
Posted 25 Nov 2019 Thanks rlp122! I am assuming that the values are normal numbers, Hours 1-24, Minutes 1-60, etc? A/B uses a value based on 1/1/70 as 0. It's a bit confusing until you get into it. Next I'll ask about arrays in memory.
Posted 25 Nov 2019 https://accautomation.ca/series/brx-do-more-plc/ The above is a link to the BRX series. This is part of the Do-More family. It might help you out. Regards, Garry
Posted 26 Nov 2019 (edited) For help on time storage in the DoMore systems go to 'help' and search for DMD0221 - Date and Time Overview. As a side note to Host - will the 2038 time bug be handled when that time comes? I see it was discussed on the Host site in 2010 (I was part of the discussion) but I haven't heard of any resolution. Let everything break in a little over 18 years? Edited 26 Nov 2019 by b_carlton
