FR D700 VFD with Compactlogix plc

Just wanting to get some clarification on a matter. We have a compactlogix plc that we are using and a Mitsubishi FR-D700 VFD. We were originally sending the output from the plc into the RL, RM, and RH terminals on the VFD and that didn't work. We had to put in some control relays and Run SD and RL,RM,RH through the normally open contacts so that the vfd would read the inputs. Is there a way to common up either the SD terminal or the PC terminal on the drive to the +24vdc or the 0VDC that the plc is using in order to get rid of the added control relays.
