Plc-5/30a and 1784-my card

4 posts in this topic

The have a stand-alone pc and plc-5/30A( computer and plc are the only things on the dh+). The computer has a 1784-kt isa card communicating with the plc. The computer is using dos controlview to interact with plc. I’m working on updating the software. The problem I’m having is getting communication working on a computer with 1784-pktx card. I can get it to work if I use the 1784-kt card.(windows xp and rslinx 2.5) but that is using an old isa card. The difference I see in the setup is the 1784-kt card has a setting to terminate dh+ and 1784-pltx does not. I have tried the 150 resistors in both end of the cable and no resistors. Also tried the 82 resistors. All speeds are 57.6k. When I connect the dh+ cable to the plc the communication light stops working. If I reverse the wires I get the red light.

Many help would be greatly appreciated

thanks

Have you tried to change the "Device Type" value to PKTX ?

I'm with Mickey on this one but if that fails I tend to use 250ohm resistors to terminate, because I have a bag of them in the truck and if the bag of 500ohm resistors would be too much.
