5 posts in this topic

Good Day,

First time to connect Omron PLC to Allen Bradley frequency drive via ethernet ( POWERFLEX 525 ).

I wonder what command should i use to start the inverter and change the frequency.

I hope somebody can help me.

Thank you in advance.

what kind of Ethernet? Normally fieldbus connection would by cyclical so rather than using commands to send the message, you would access data as IO.

Assuming that you mean using EtherNet/IP, do this:

http://forums.mrplc.com/applications/core/interface/file/attachment.php?id=13622

But instead of using the BNI EIP-508 EDS files, use the EDS files for the Powerflex found here:

https://marketplace.odva.org/uploads/product/eds_file/580/11171_EDS.zip

Notes:

Don't worry about the BNI specific settings (Port Function).

The only type of connection type that can be set is Discrete Exclusive Owner.

The sizes of your tags will be different than the document.  Your tag sizes will be 8 bytes on the input side and 4 bytes on the output side.

Good Day,

Thanks for the inputs.

I drive the Inverter tru terminal inputs. And set the frequency tru auto set up. 10hz,30,50, & 60hz.

But i want to see the ampere or hertz in my pc in actual run. BSI or Ethernet is the connection.

Thank you in advance

Ok, are you trying to use EtherNet/IP?  Did you do the configuration that I described?
