Ethernet Communications between CJ2M-CPU33 and IDEC HG1G-4VT22F-S HMI

6 posts in this topic

I am struggling to establish Ethernet communications between an IDEC HMI and OMRON PLC.

Can ping both devices on the network, BUT HMI shows a communication error "ID:00h 0".

Anyone have any suggestions how to resolve?

Do I need to use CX-Configurator to setup a routing table, and if YES how to do it?

Frustrated/Confused.

From the HMI data sheet it looks like the Ethernet side is TCP.

Ethernet port on the CJ2M-CPU33 is only Ethernet/IP and FINS.

You would need CJ1W-ETN21 to communicate.

Might be further ahead to use serial comms.

I see the HMI supports SYSMAC(ETHERNET). Is this FINS?

If so, then the PLC will need the network configured via CX Integrator. Here is a procedure I use for the older NS screens that don't have EtherNet/IP.

Thanks for quick response and app. note.

Connection via Serial as gtsupport mentions works just fine.

But I really prefer to go with Ethernet if I can get it working.

Attached are extracted pages from IDEC manual showing that the HMI "should" be capable of connecting directly to the PLC.

Setup procedure in IDEC WindOI-NV4 is somewhat confusing and missing anything regarding the need to use CX-Integrator as IO_Rack mentions.

Have contacted IDEC Tech. Support and await reply. Meanwhile I'll continue working with "Good Ole Serial"

I didn't see where you picked that up.  From all posts, it sounds like FINS UDP.

Jay,

You are correct, it is FINS UDP.

Thanks,
