Micrologix 1200R Communication port & cable

4 posts in this topic

Have a micrologix 1200R 1762-L40BWAR.  If anyone could help with providing the following information: Need a communication port with single receptacle that will mount through the door of electrical enclosure and then the communication cable (6 to 10') that will go from the com. port to the micrologix.

Thanks

I think you have to buy an 8 pin mini din extension cable and an 8 pin door mounted mini din connector and build the cable your own

You can also get a "standard" programming cable for the MicroLogix with their custom mini-DIN type connector on one end an a 9-pin d-shell connector on the other. I think that's the 1761-CBL-PM02 cable. Then, get a programming port with the 9-pin d-shell connector. You can then use just a standard serial cable to connect to your PC.

Edited to add:

The AB cable tends to be expensive, but here's an aftermarket one:

We've used their cables before with great results.
