Factory Talk Directory Blank

3 posts in this topic

Hi.

I changed my computer name and forgot Factory Talk Directory was linked to the PC credentials. So now i cant start any Rockwell program (Studio 5000 or FT Studio). I tried to configure a new Factory Talk Directory using the Factory Talk Directory Configuration Wizard, but i got "Access Denied" when i try to run the program. Is there a way to solve this problem without having to uninstall - reinstall all the programs?

Licensing issues, copy protection and similar are to be resolved with product vendor.

We had that problem too when we had to change a computer name, but I can't find the notes I took about how to fix it. I do know you have to be logged in as a Windows admin and I'm almost sure you need the credentials that were entered during the FactoryTalk directory setup while installing the software. If you don't have those credentials, you may have to uninstall/reinstall the software.
