12 posts in this topic

I am facing a big problem with my Mitsubishi FX2N-48MT PLC
The problem is summed up in when PLC is turned on the Power LED & CPU-E LED light up Knowing that PLC in the Run State
I disconnect the battery to light up BATT.V LED and that did not happen
It's  like frozen
I hope you will help me to overcome this problem
Thanks in Advance

Hardware failure is likely.

But if you took out the battery, you lost the program.

Thank you Crossbow for your reply

I removed the battery while PLC working and installed it again only to make sure there was a response.

If the program is lost due to battery damage, is there any way to restore the program again?

If the Error LED was red and not flashing it could have become stuck in loop. (Watchdog).
Also the program  might have been corrupted somehow.

Do you still have the program ?

It looks like a hardware problem to me too.

If you took the battery out while still powered up - there's a chance the program is still there (I forget the time allowed to remove and replace the battery)

Your first thing to do is try and communicate with it and attempt to get the program out.

If not, (and no program backup) it's a new PLC and reprogram.

This is typical problem with lost of PLC program due to its battery discharge.

'If program is lost due to battery damage' then you either contact the person who originally wrote the program for a copy, or you write a new one.  There's no magic recovery.  PLC is RAM memory, no power = no memory.  No way around that.  That's why there is a battery in the first place.

thank you all, for help me

It has been shown that the problem is in PLC as a Hardware and the program lost.

But I tried to look for this type and found it hard to provide (FX2N-48MT)

So it is possible to write the same program in this module (FX2N-48ER-ES/UL As an alternative to FX2N-48MT)

The MT is transistor output and MR is relay output.

Otherwise the same, unless it specifically needs transistor outputs

FX2N is years out of date.  Since you need to write a new program, I would recommend moving forward into a newer family like the FX5.

Run with either an FX3u-48MR (or MT).  They are a good physical replacement for the FX2n range and the programming software is the same.  So when you do find your original software you will be able to easily program it into the FX3u.
