Protecting Source- GX IEC

10 posts in this topic

Does anyone know if it is possible to protect source FB's (ST and Ladder) in GX IEC Developer 7.01/7.04?

I have spent a lot of time engineering FB's that will be used in multiple instances and I would like to protect this code from being modified/adjusted.

Give me 2 minutes and the library is unprotected....... :( :(

:) True it can be hacked but it's an extra level of security.
I guess upgrading to GX Works 2 would be better it has some more security features which are better

Really or do you mean just the libraries ??  Because I meant the new possibilities Like program POU password and user management not the libraries or PLC password.
Without the registration key file it should be very hard to get access to the project.

Gambit,

GX Works2

Change this code

( 75 82 BF CD D2 11 10 B6 1D 1C 78 42 88 83 85 D7) into ………………

It’s up to you how to use it and where. (library, pou, administrator, etc)

I can’t tell everything on the forum here, but it is easy. ;-)

If I explain how to do on this forum, then I think I get many problems :-(

Gambit,

I see that you live very close to me in the Netherlands. We are almost neighbors. (35 km distance, 21 miles)

Which organization do you work for?
