Hi wizards Iv wrote a program off line while waiting for the expansion cards to arrive today.... ive installed the cards and tried to read to I/O config and its not seeing them if i enter them manually the plc faults saying they're the wrong cards im adding a 1762-IQ32 and a 1762-ow16 even tho ive plugged the ribbon cables into one another to they require their on power supply? hopefully one of you guys can help me out here

Check the ribbon cable connections very carefully to be sure you haven't bent a pin or torn a cable.

In general, you just enter the expansion modules in the I/O configuration and the controller recognizes them.   

You might have a bad expansion port on the controller itself.     Talk to your distributor to see if you can test your I/O modules with one of their demos.

Thanks Ken these are all new out the packet with factory seals from AB but as we all know errors are made, ill check now
