CX-Programmer Unable to Open File

13 posts in this topic

Hello,

I have the original back-up plc software, from the machine supplier. When I tried opening with CX-Programmer, there are errors and the project file could not be opened.

The list of errors are..

1.ERROR: Item key 'CXProgVer': String attribute not found
2.WARNING: Item key 'CXProgVer': Assigning default string
3.ERROR: Invalid file version.

Is the file corrupted? or I need to downgrade the cx-programmer software, since the machine program was 10 years ago ( as mentioned by the manufacturer ).

Thanks for your inputs.

Cheers.

What version is your CX-Programmer? I think instead of downgrading, you need to upgrade, since CX-Programmer is always backwards compatible.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply.

My cx-programmer now is v9.65, but I could not open the file.

I ask another guy to open the file, but the same error.  The version of cx-prog used was using is v9.62

Post your programme and I'll test whether it opens in my CX-Programmer version!

Hello Bits N Bytes,

Let me ask first with my Boss, if it is allowed to post / share the program.  I may have to send it to your on your private mail.

Thanks.

If the porgram was created in your version 9.50 or earlier then an update probably won't fix your problem.

First try a full auto update and see if that fixes your issue.

Failing that a complete uninstall followed by Clean CXOne, then a complete reinstall and a complete auto update is probably your only solution.

Very tedious and time consuming but as a last resort should ultimately fix your problem.

Use CX-One Remover program (from instalation DVD or  internet) for good uninstaling ( mainly cx-server)
