Posted 21 Mar 2017 We are currently having issues with a non-responding HMI (GT25) when it has been on for a longer period of time. It responds to ping but every time I try to connect via USB or Ethernet in GT Designer 3 it doesnt reply. The solution is just to reboot the panel. Therefor I want to add a button or similar to just reboot the panel. Is there a known solution for this? I don't know of any and googling it isn't really paying off. Before you say it, Mitsubishi has no ideas what this comes from, even though they analyzed the Project file. Thankful for your support.

Posted 23 Mar 2017 Strange has Mitsubishi been able to reproduce the problem? Anyway as far as i know there isn't any Reboot function Can you still access the utility screen when this happens ?

Anyway as far as i know there isn't any Reboot function Can you still access the utility screen when this happens ? The HMI is fully functional and useable at all times. This is not the issue. The problem is to connect to it via GT Designer 3. I can access Everything in the HMI, including the utility screen.
Posted 24 Mar 2017 I understand the problem. I just wonderen if it was reproducible. If not I would exchange the unit. From a diagnostic point: I was just thinking that than you could check the ethernet communication monitor from the util menu. Maybe there is a error when you try to connect via ethernet. Another solution might be to add an extra ethernet card to the GT25.
Posted 24 Mar 2017 Are you monitoring the PLC through the HMI?

I shouldn't be bothered with adding cards to a completely new HMI. Maybe i'll have to Exchange it. Just now, WattUp said: Are you monitoring the PLC through the HMI? No, I am not monitoring anything. Neither does it work with an Ethernet Cable directly coupled or via USB.
Posted 21 May 2017 I use fx5u <ethernet> GOT GS21 <USB> laptop with GXW3 and GTD3 running simultaneously. If GXW3 is in monitoring mode, writing from GTD3 to HMI is not possible. If i try, GTD3 hang's for 25-30 sec. and then appears error connection message. Stpping the monitoring and unplug/plug the usb fixes the problem. I always turn off monitoring from plc and test communication between GTD3 and HMI and if it is ok then i write to GOT. 1 person likes this

I understans that but this is not the case. GXW3 or GXW2 isn't even started when this occurs.

You are so right !!! Why Mitsubishi does not correct this ? Or even display a message saying that ... Very disappointed from Mitsubishi, which made me lose one day fighting with it.
