Posted 2 Mar 2017 I'm trying to connect to a SLC 500 (1747-L40A). Looks like there is only an Ethernet connection, but I don't know the IP address or where to get it. Any ideas?
Posted 2 Mar 2017 Stop! That's not an Ethernet connection, though it does use the same RJ45 port. You can damage it and the Ethernet port of your PC if you plug into it. You need a 1747-UIC. https://www.theautomationstore.com/allen-bradley-slc-500-programming-cable-usb-to-dh485-1747-uic/
Posted 3 Mar 2017 Page A-4 shows the topography of what you are trying to do to connect a PC with a Fixed SLC-500. Take note that the 1747-AIC is obsolete; 1747-UIC is the suggested replacement. http://literature.rockwellautomation.com/idc/groups/literature/documents/um/1747-um009_-en-p.pdf
