Posted 7 Oct 2016 Hallo my Allen Bradley friends, is there any way to create a folder in FactoryTalk View Studio? I mean at Graphics/Displays. The clarity of a bigger projekt is affected by that. Mit freundlichen Grüßen, Best regards Adrian Düringer
Posted 7 Oct 2016 Please explain more of what you desire to do. FTView likes all projects to be stored in a specific place. This may be your issue in that you desire to have your project folder in a different place. I have wrestled with issue before and eventually gave up and went with storing folders how FTView Studio does it.
Posted 7 Oct 2016 The short answer is no. FTView wants the file and folder structure that is presented to you. There are others here with more detailed explanations, but there are many background processes running that are creating and assembling directories that can not be changed. The Displays folder is organized alphanumerically. Consider renaming your displays (yes, I realize that you will need to examine every navigation button and every "Touch") by process area or station. Make use of cross-reference, find and replace tools to make this a quicker process. Reduce the number of similar displays. Rather than having many copies of the same display with different tagging, create on display and use parameter files and parameter passing.
