E100 to E1012 Ugrade

2 posts in this topic

Hi,

I have a problem replacing an E100 HMI with an E1012

The  E100 was connected to a QJ71C24N via the RS232 port (9pin) and also to Metering (Modbus) via a CAB 8 RS422/485 converter. I have problems with the E1012 communicating with the C24 the C24 send/receive lights flash for a second then the HMI displays BAD REPLY - I can live with it communicating direct through the PLC programming port and use the C24 for GX Developer but it would be nice to keep the programming port free.

My other problem is the MODBUS communication - I have not changed the original cable and have plugged the CAB 8 directly into the 422 (25pin) COM1 HMI port.

I have changed the original E100 HMI file to E1012 v1.5, updated the drivers, re-assigned the HMI communication ports but still scratching my head.

Any help would be appreciated.

You'll have to switch pin2 and pin3 on the RS232 plug (on one of the sides). THe old E100 used a "modem-port" (straight cable to C24), while the E1012 uses standard computer port (hence a crossed cable to the C24).
