Posted 25 Aug 2015 (edited) Hi everyone, I have a problem with an FX-EEPROM that is mounted in an FX3U The eeprom has a switch (protect sw) that is in off position, it seems that someone remove the eeprom card from the plc while the supply was still on. I put back the eeprom to the PLC but a parameter error appears. This eeprom contains the program of the PLC. Anyone knows how to remove this error? Thanks in advance Edited 26 Aug 2015 by Theodor
Posted 25 Aug 2015 You have rebooted the PLC I assume? Sounds like the program might have gotten corrupted. Have you tried reading the program from the EEPROM with GX Developer?
Posted 26 Aug 2015 the program is code protected so i can't read the program.
Posted 26 Aug 2015 Hi Theodor, Thy to make following steps: 1) Move RUN-STOP switch of PLC into STOP position, then power off the PLC 2) Remove the EEPROM card from PLC slot 3) Using SC-09 or a similar, connect your PC, on which a programming software is installed, to the PLC programming port 4) Power on the PLC and PC 5) Open a programming software, take a comunication with PLC and clean tollally the PLC memory 6) Power off the PLC and disconnect it of PC 7) Insert the EEPROM card into PLC slot 8) Power on the PLC, then move RUN-STOP switch of PLC into RUN position. Posted 26 Aug 2015 Thanks for the help,i try it but it didn't work, the error remains. any other advice?
Posted 26 Aug 2015 This is a bad news for you. Obviously, the program in EEPROM is corrupted. The advice is one: to contact to a specialist and to write new program for the unit, if you know the algorithm of its operation and have the schematic diagrams. Posted 8 Sep 2015 You were right ” Innovative Technology, Electronics, Telecommunications”, the program was corrupted, I change the eeprom card with another one with the same program and everything works fine, thanks for helping.

Posted 14 Oct 2017 @pv550: First of all, you should start a new topic (this topic is from 2015) when having new questions. Second, to your actual question: You just mount the EEPROM into the PLC, and download. As long as the EEPROM is mounted the unit will boot from it. If you move the EEPROM to a different PLC the "new" PLC will boot from EEPROM. FX-series EEPROMs are quite easy: If they are mounted, everything will transfer to/from the EEPROM. If they are not mounted, everything will transfer to/from the built-in memory.
