RsLogix 500 and Eaton SVX 9000 VFD

2 posts in this topic

Good morning all, my issue is communication with a Micrologix 1400 and an Eaton VFD. Our standard is usually a Compactlogix and using RS Logix 5000. In 5000 I am able to add an generic Ethernet module and adjust assembly instances. Is there a way to do that in 500? If not what will I have to do?

By looking at the Eaton website http://www.eaton.com/Eaton/ProductsServices/Electrical/ProductsandServices/AutomationandControl/AdjustableFrequencyDrives/IndustrialDrives/SVX/index.htm#tabs-2 , it appears that you will need the OPCTK (Ethernet/IP) option board for your drive and the manual for that board gives examples for SLC 500 series messaging for data elements, really depends on what level of control you are trying to achieve by ethernet
