Question about com port settings w/ melsoft v8

Hello all, I am using Melsoft's GX Developer to frogram my FX1n PLC. The laptop that my company purchased does not have a serial port. So we purchased a usb adapter. The software is stuck on COM port 1 b/c that is what hardwired serial ports are usually designated. Now I know that I could also use an older laptop which has a hardwired serial port, but I want to use the newer and faster one. Using device manager in XP Home, I can find which COM Port the PLC is connected under via the USB adapter. Is there a way to change which COM Port the software looks at when finding the PLC? Thanks

You can change the com port in Gx-developer drop down menu "ONLINE", choose tranfer setup, then choose serial and you will be able to specify different com ports
