Pls some one give me a clear answer about what to use.... Thanks & Regards Nelliyan.G

You may have some 'links' or documents that confuse the two products because of their similar names. The 1747-AIC has only DH485 network ports (Trunk, Aux, and Processor) and is used only on DH485 networks. It has no RS-232 ports. The 1761-NET-AIC has two RS-232 ports (one DB9 and one Mini DIN-8) and one RS-485 (Trunk) port. It electrically converts the signal from RS-232 to RS-485 and back, and can be used in DH485, DF1 Half Duplex, and Modbus networks.
