How to Connect GE9030 to Omron CJ via ethernet

3 posts in this topic

Hello, Has anybody connected a GE9030 PLC to Omron CJ/CS via ethernet?? We have both units on site and would like to share data. We dont care which one is master/slave. Thanks. Omron Moderator Jay Anthony: We have posted the same request in the Omron section.

The 90-30 isn't going to be able to understand Omron's ethernet protocol and the Omron won't understand GE Fanuc's standard ethernet protocol (SRTP). They might, however be able to speak a 'common second language'. The 90-30 can also handle Modbus TCP. Can the Omron?

GE_Guest: Please register at MrPLC.com and join the MRPLC.com community Register at MrPLC.com The CJ/CS ETN21 ethernet modules handle TCP connections in ladder. There are bits for opening a TCP socket and ones for recognizing a remote unit opening a socket. All you have to do is decide on a common protocol.
