Well you don't download *from* PLC, this is called upload. To upload program from just about *any* PLC, open programming software and create new project. Make sure to select same CPU as the one with the program to be uploaded. Make sure to connect PLC to computer and select communication option in the software. Select upload or read from PLC. Depending on brand you have to select files for upload. When applied to Mitsubishi PLC this becomes following procedure: Start GX developer then click on Project > New Project select FX0(S) CPU and clock OK. Connect PLC and PC with apporpriate cable (I guess that will be SC09). Click on Online menu, Transfer Setup and click on Connection Test. If it doesn't work, check if something else is using the COM port or if that is correct port. Bottom line, you should get succesfull connection before proceeding. Once connection is ok, close the Transfer Setup window and from Online menu select Read from PLC. That's all it is...

Or.............if you dont want to save the program already in the PLC, you can use the 'clear plc memory' under the 'online' section. But actually just downloading a new program will clear the old one - but maybe not the parameters.
