Mitsubishi melsec plc inop

3 posts in this topic

I have a Mitsubishi MELSEC F-40MR/U PLC that stopped running; cpu error light stays on. Does this usually mean the PLC is unusable; that internal repair is needed? Could anything outside the PLC (e.g. inputs, outputs, power) cause the cpu error light to come on? How can I reset? Thanks for help. :-3

Out of interest has the unit got a ram card fitted and has the power recently been switched off for any reason. It could be something as simple as having no program in memory due to a flat memory backup battery ?

John,       Do you have the Medoc software, PLC program and a means to connect to the PLC ? Register D8004 can be checked and the value stored in here can give an indication regarding the reason for some CPU error's. I agree with the Battery being low, as the first thing to check. (They have a normal life of about 5 years) Regards,           Gene.  :-8
