Posted 2 Aug 2002 I was curious if anyone else has tried to link multiple PLC's (C200 and C200HS) on a network accessable through a PC. I've tried myself to link them using AL001/002/004 adapter modules (RS-232-RS-422) but could not get them to talk. I'm an AB man so it was easy to link the SLC 5/04's back to my desk. Omron is a whole 'nother animal however, not so straightforward. I'm wide open to any ideas you might have. Thanks.
Posted 2 Aug 2002 1. Wiring - Be specific to your layout both as a block diagram and a pinout. 2. Firmware - Each PLC must have a unique unit number. C200H is set with rotary DIP switch. C200HS is set with PC Setup in DM's. 3. What software are using? See the below links: Hostlink Wiring http://oeiwcsnts1.omron.com/pdfcata....Element C200HS Operation Manual http://oeiwcsnts1.omron.com/pdfcata....Element
Posted 23 Aug 2002 Sysmac Link works fine on C200HS, although rather expensive. Not sure about the C200H. It is pretty old now. For new projects suggest Controller Link. Not expensive and works a treat.
Posted 23 Aug 2002 Controller Link is a vast improvement over Syslink, but unfortunately it will not work with either C200H or C200HS. You must upgrade to C200H Alpha (E, G, X).
