Read Weight Scale via RS 232

Hello, What do I have to do to configure my MicroLogix AB PLC to read a weight scale via its RS 232 port. The weight scales on the market today have RS 232 output capabilities. What do I have to configure in the PLC so that it continuously reads the outputed scale value via the RS 232 port? Thanks a million, Knincro

What kind of Micrologix do you have? A 1500 LRP? I hope so. This way you can configure channel 1, (the DB-9 port on the side) as an ASCII port and then you have to do some logic in your PLC with ACSII READS etc...

I haven't purchased the PLC yet, so what you're telling me is that I should buy a 2 channel PLC? One for programming and the other for interfacing? I have never done any programming with ASCII reads, can you please send me an example or direct me to a good link? Thanks, Knincro
