CP1L Error in CX-Simulator

3 posts in this topic

When running CX Simulator [V1.8] from CX-Programmer [V7.23] I am getting a Non-Fatal Error that cannot be cleared. The Error Log shows Code = 009B and Details PLC Setup Error. The CP1L operation manual states that for a PLC Setup Error "The address of the of the error is stored in A406 in 16-bit binary" The PLC Setup Error Flag A402.10 is ON and A406 = 00A0Hex. Anyone got any ideas as where this error is located, what it means and how to resolve it?? OR maybe this is a bug in CX Simulator??

Could 'A0' refer to internal address '160', which is to do with comms format setup on the CPU? See manual W462 page 611 onwards in appendix G. Hope that might help! Andy. Edited by Andy_P

Thanks Andy. Application uses ModBus Easy Master communications so the Serial Port 1 settings are configured as Custom with Mode = Serial Gateway. Have already used this setup with a physical PLC and networked drives with no Errors. Seems that CX Simulator just doesn't like this setting. Temporarily changed the Serial Port mode to Toolbus and error is gone. Looks like I just need to ignore this in CX Simulator.
