Analog addressing

4 posts in this topic

Hi, I'm finally making progress on my system (S7-315 w/ OP177B). I do have a few more hurdles though. I'm trying to add in the analog input addressing and am having a problem. Before, I had inadvertantly preceeded the address with a "P" and was getting an error. The hardware configuration says the 2 channel address range is 288...291. So, I'm trying to address the two channels as IW288 and IW290. When I do this I get a message that says some blocks cannot be downloaded to the CPU. In the software the module is configured as 2-wire 4-20 mA and the "key" on the module is set the same (setting D). Any suggestions on how to properly address these inputs (I'm using Step 7 Lite)? As always, I would greatly appreciate any and all help! Thanks, Steve

i would suggest posting more detail. what is the exact error message? what is the part number of the PLC card? is it the SAME part number as the previous one? can you post screenshot of your hardware config?

I'm running several Analog inputs and outputs and my addresses look like this - PIWxxx, PQWxxx. This is on a 314-2DP processor, but I wouldn't think it would matter what processor you use. But, then again, it is Siemens. Check out the picture I've attached, that shows where I use the Input. Good Luck.

Not a very helpful message is it ?With STEP7, there is typically a button in the error message window that pops up, and you have to press that button to get to the "real" error information. The button is labelled "Additional info" or "Help" or something like that. There may be something else wrong with the code causing that you cannot download that block. It could be that you address i/o or merkers that are outside what the CPU supports.
