6 posts in this topic

Have anyone any experience of any VIPA (Speed) CPU? They say that they have to worlds fastest CPU (that is programmable whit Step7). Are they any good or is it just bad pirate stuff? Are they cheaper than ordinary Siemens? Well this CPU locks good at the paper atleast DC 24V, 1MByte, expandable up to 2MByte work memory (50% program/50% data), MP2I, MMC slot, real-time clock Interface: Profibus-DP master, 12MBaud, up to 125 slaves/PtP RS485, potential separated, ASCII, STX/ETX, 3964R, Modbus master, USS master, Ethernet interface for PG/OP communication Have only tried there V200 as decentralized I/O but i cant say i recomend it. Hard to get running and as soon as today we had to replace one card (4 AI).

VIPA as I know is made by specialists left SIEMENS by some reason. Price level is similar. It should be some distributors in Sweden. You can ask my distributor www.elinta.lt

Hi all! I've used two VIPA SPEED7 314ST CPU's in two different projects and I must say that they are the fastest PLC I have ever programmed. Main advantages: - STEP7 100% compatible; - Faster cycle (<1 ms); - Profibus master, PtP and Ethernet all in the same CPU unit. - Some S7-400 features (accumulators, ...); - Good documentation and HowToDo's easy to understand at VIPA's FTP site . Main disadvantages: - At STEP7's Hardware Manager, there is no 314ST CPU and you must set it as a SIEMENS 318 with a virtual Profibus network (for SPEED7 bus devices) and a virtual SPEED7 CPU hanging on it. - There is no Protool based touch pannel. Instead of it, they use MOVICONXCE or ZENONCE Touch pannels. Technical support may be not good enough sometimes, because it does not come directly from VIPA. Really it's a good device!
