Help with S5

:-p Iv just resurrected an old pc (486) with Siemens Step5 software on it however as it is a DOS program i cant get s5 to start as i cant remember the DOS commands to get it to start, any suggestions ????

Hi there, Type in C: (harddisk name) followed by dir. C:dir/p /p is for page viewing then look for the S5.exe or something like this give it in and it will probable start c:\S5.exe I think the .exe is not necessary Hope this helps

Hi, It depends on your version of Step5. If there isn't a Batchfile like 'S5.bat' or 'Step5.bat' then look for look for 'S5KXS01X.com' or 'S5KXS01X.com in '[drv]:\Step5\S5_ST\.. HTH Guest

Sorry for the delay folks, I have S5v3 but if i type s5 i get an unable to open com port 2 error they i stay in DOS
