    Hello - I stumbled across some mention of Codesys and was curious if anyone here uses it. Pros/cons? prefer it over other programming software. Have it downloading currently (since you can download a free variation of the application) but it looks quite interesting. Also - what PLC hardware is programmed with it? Did not see that mentioned on their website when I was browsing through.

Hello,, I have motion controller A series A172SHCPUN,, I have written the program ladder into the CPU, but I can't write the motion program.. i dont have the program to open file the program motion and I want to ask if I have the software SW3RNC-GSVE, my os computer is window XP, Can it be installed? and is the cable transfer used the same as the ladder transfer program cable (SC09)?

    Hello all   I have OMRON PLC CP1E-E10DR-A.  I installed CX programmer , where I unable to connect the PLC.Driver successfully installed. In the software , i unbale to connect, there is no option for choosing E10DR, Th software has option of choosing E20 and above. Can anybody help in this?   Thanks

  11. Device point error between Parameter and PLC

    Hello all, I am a beginner with PLCs programming. I have an issue on GX Developer programming software from Melsoft trying to program my Mitsubishi Q-series PLC. CPU is Q03UDCPU. When the program is written and I try to upload it to the PLC, with the write to PLC window, I check -Program -- MAIN and -Prameter -- PLC/Network/Remote, click EXECUTE and a message appears : "Device point that is set in parameter is not match the device point in PLC". I can't fix it. In Parameter - PLC Parameter - Q parameter setting (window) - I/O assignment tab : I have (see image). Whe I use CHECK button it says there is no error. The X41 input device is plugged on slot 1/00. I am making this folowing the instructions a PDF I found on the Mitsubishi electric's wesite : Q-series basic course (for GX Developer).   13. Hey everyone! New member here, and this site has always been a big help!  I try to help other folks too, but a lot of guys are super quick on here.   I've got a problem using some obscure components. I inherited a sensor network at work that uses Panasonic S-Link and I need to read them from a Q-Series. Panasonic makes a module that slots into the Q Series called an SL-VMEL-Q that I have.   My question is:  Did I do everything correctly on my Mitsubishi side? I put it into the parameters as an intelligent module with 64 points and I put the correct address in for the start I/O. Is that all I have to do?  This is the first time I used a module that wasn't on the drop down list when you add one in GX Works 2.   I can read and write to the buffer memory, but I can't get the unit to send to or receive from the sensors. I think the problem is that there is no end unit on the S-Link line (I don't know if it's just a terminating resistor or what), but it previously worked without one, so I can't be certain.

Hi everyone,  I am trying to use Kepware to communicate with my PLC setup which is the iQ-R Series R08PCPU.  I read the documentation which is available at https://www.kepware.com/getattachment/3daf1ac3-5c76-49ce-bbfe-f0fb1015f6cc/mitsubishi-ethernet-manual.pdf I read through the setup for Kepware and the setup procedure for iQ-R series but it still didn't work.  From the documentation, it said something about "using special ladder logic to enable ethernet communications is required.", I couldn't find anything about this online.  Here what I did in addition to the documentation: - Enabled IP Packet Transfer - Ping the PLC's IP Address which was successful Does anyone have any idea what I didn't do to establish that communication between Kepware and R08PCPU?  Thank you in advance.

Naturally, since the reading of these variables are to provide accurate instantaneous results, it is a requirement that these values are to be read at one scan.   However, as can be seen below, there is a gap in address register range – of which, if all of these are scanned simultaneously, yields an exception error when read. This error is only avoided by scanning these data sets separately – which is not ideal for our application – since accuracy in calculations is imperative.

  20. My apologies for being a newbie on this, but could someone save me on this... I have a Viper 650 and an eMB-60R controller which I want to control by ePLC connection using an NJ501-1300 PLC unit, SYSMAC Studio with EIP Adept Library for Robot... All are starting up well, and I connect all components to a switch hub...  But following the ePLC guidelines, the IP Address showing on the controller is 172.16.132.111 I change the IPV4 IP Address on the PC settings to 172.16.132.10 and the subnet to 255.255.0.0 but the Adept IP Address Setting Tool on SYSMAC doesn't detect the Robot IP Address, also i tried ipconfig on command prompt which shows a different IP Address IPV4 169.254.197.75 and subnet of 255.255.0.0, I changed the previous setting on the PC setting to 169.254.197.10 with the same subnet. But still PC doesn't recognize. I tried both configurations if ACE Software can detect it but the same ACE can not detect it also... Appreciate any thoughts on what's wrong in my configurations.   23. Currently, our SCADA setup uses Kepware, Wonderware, and Canary Labs data logger and historian. The data flow is as follows:  PLCs --> Kepware (on PC near process) Kepware --> Canary Data Logger (on PC near process) Canary Data Logger --> Canary Historian (on Server) Canary Historian --> Canary Axiom Viewer Client (on engineer's PC) We use Wonderware as an HMI on the Process PC to control the process. As many will know, this is very wasteful as Wonderware includes many other features and we are paying for all of them yet using only the HMI feature. Our goal is to cut Wonderware out of the equation (i am aware that Wonderware  could replace both Canary and Kepware with its data logger and OPC server features but this is the direction that was chosen so we are going with it).  My question is: Does anyone know of any simple and cheap (-er than Wonderware) PC-based HMI software that could replace Wonderware on the Process PC?
