Hi dears i have one cp340 (340-1AH02) that is modbus RS232 RTU master and one RS485 RTU slave. i want to use RS232 to RS485 converter is it ok? can i do this without any problem?

Hi guys, I'm trying to communicate with a scale controller (Rice Lake ACT20-AN) to read gross weight. Scale controller: RS485, ASCII bidirectional protocol, Baud 9600, Address 1, Delay 0, Parity None, Stop 1 PLC: Channel 1, Data Bit 7 (unclear if it should be 7/8), Parity None, Stop 1, Sum check code Exist, 9600bps, Non procedural protocol (should this be bidirectional?), Station number 2 (should this be different than scale?) I am using $Movp "$01t75CR" D6050, Movp K1 D6000, Movp K4 D6002, G.Output U8 D6000 D6050 M7000 which seems to work okay since M7001 does not turn on? I do not get any data, however, when running Movp K1 D6100, Movp k7 D6102, G.Input U8 D6100 D6150 M7100 at the same time as the G.Output instruction. I have attached the PLC program. Also, for wiring I wired the RS485+ to SDB and RDB, then RS485- to SDA and RDA as suggested by the scale controller manual. I then grounded the cable shielding along with SG and both FG connections. Any help would be appreciated in figuring this out, thank you! Scale_111219.gxw

Dear All. i'm a new user for Janitza. and i have issue related to RS485 actually, not to Janitza itself. i have one device (UMG 96RM), where there is only RS485 (2 pin only), no RS232, no USB, No Ethernet port. i'm trying simply to connect the device to the PC, via (USB to RS485) convertor, but i'm not able to do it. for me, this is the first time i'm see (RS485 2 Pins), usually there is Ground signal also. anyway, could you please somebody help how to connect? shall i add a pull up & pull down resistors at the device? and what is the power supply i must use? noting that, i tried many things, but still nothing happened. Appreciate if somebody can help Best regards.

Hi I'm trying to figure out how to use the OP320-A to control the relays on the FX1N-20MR. I have mastered the OP edit tool, but I havn't learnt how to use GX Developer. The FX3U and op320 by 485 setting youtube is a good start. Does anyone have a GX Developer project file available. Is there an OP320 and FX1N or similar that comes together, pre-programmed, ready to use. I know how to write C++ programs to send RS485 commands, but this GX developer looks complicated. many thanks Tim

Can Mitsubishi FX3GA-60MT PLC be used as Modbus RS485 Slave? Any sample code or documentation would be very helpful. I am planning to communicate to Weintek HMI (Modbus RS485 master) to FX3GA-60MT PLC (Modbus RS485 Slave). Any other ideas would be nice. Thanks

Hi Friends, In My new project I have used two Delta PLC'S (DVP-60ES2 and DVP 14SS2) I want to communicate both through RS 485 Communication protocol.We have tried communication trough manual help.But Master Slave device not communicating.We have checked for any error code in D1130 but it always showning "K0" value.here with I have attached screen shots and complete program for yours kind reference.Kindly help and guide us to communicate. Modbus addressing in Weintek HMI to poll data from Temperature sensor through RS485. In my system i have connected Temperature sensor to I/O Scanner has output in terms of RS-485 which directly connected to COM3 Port pin. No. 6 (as Negative) & 9 (as Positive) of HMI (Model No: MT8071iE) and HMI connected to PC via ETHERNET. I want to read temp on HMI screen via MODBUS protocol. So, can you please provide me instruction about addressing of MODBUS register in Easy-Builder Software so can read data of corresponding register. Because when i do compile i got an error like " Device no Response". I hope i will get reply from your side as Fast as possible to overcome this problem. Thank you.

Any one have any experience to due with Parity Error when RS485 input can't get? Below is the circuit trace i get. It shown me that Parity Error when input signal from my device. But some of the time I can get the input message completely. Sometime can't. Is there any way to solve it?

i am new in plc programming . i know the basics difference between the rs232, rs422, rs485. but i am little bit confused in it. so i have the following question regarding these terms. 1. can these protocols communicate with each other i mean rs232 can communicate with rs422 or rs485 and same. 2. my plc has port rs422 but i can connect it with my laptop serial port which is rs232 ? 3. what are the main important points that kept in mind during communication or cross communications. any help will be greatly appreciated.

For the Dematic PTL (Push To Light) systems, does anyone have any information on the protocol used. I'm assuming it's RS-485 based since the buttons use MAX1487 drivers. What I'm looking for is if anyone has a starting place to look at the handshaking or messaging.

Hello, PLC: NX1P Comm module: NX-CIF105 I am running a serial (RS485) network to control several motors. As a trigger for to read the serial port I am using the ( Ch1 Receive Data Exist) bit, which is an internal bit that's ideally should be energized when there's data in the Receive buffer. However, this bit isn't reliable at all. I am reaching out today to figure out if there's another way to trigger the receive command ( preferably without a delay) thank you all Cheers!

Hello, I have managed to send output to a terminal using a serial channel. I have not been able to send data from the terminal to the Mitsubishi PLC. I am not using terminating resistors but I have a slow baud rate of 4800. I am just using regular wires (1.5mm square) . I think the hardware is okay as I can see the output from the PLC on the screen. Attached is the code. I just send from the terminal the character 22 every second, I hope this is not too incomplete to get some help. The plan I guess later is to interface with LabVIEW probably using Modbus but I need to try to get this working first. UL9.gx3 -
Morning Guys, For my latest project I need to read a gas sensor via 485 from a Momentum PLC. I've been through the help files, but they seem to only raise more questions than they answer, they only seem to reference PLC -> PLC comms. I've had a play with the 'MBP_MSTR' & 'OUT_IN_MBUS' function blocks, but i can't seem to get anywhere, Has anyone got any examples of reading in data via 485, or can anyone lead me in the right direction?

Hey guys I don't have much experience in PLC serial communication and I'm tasked to integrate 6 OP-905 scales with our EATON based control system. The scales are rs485 asynchronous serial communication, my concern is that if the device is not designed to be an RTU then I cannot use modbus. And if that is the case how do I talk to multiple scales using the async protocol. Has anyone done this in a similar platform?

I need some help with G.input and g.output commands. I have a Q04UDEHCPU and my slots are as follow: slot 0 - QJ61BT11N cclink slot 1 - QJ61BT11N cclink slot 2 - QJ71C24N-R4 2-channel RS4222/RS485 I need to have 2 separate RS485 stings going to different devices. I cannot find the way of setting up the g.output command. G.Output "Un" (s1) (s2) (d) "Un" says it is the start I/O signal of the module, but I am not sure what that means. What there be a different "Un" number for each channel?

Hello all i'm looking for some software to record a 100 plus channels maybe with an ascii string from a PLC? i want to be able to assign each channel with a unit and a range, flagging feature would be nice. - selecting the channels i want to view - auto start recording - save file and start new automatically -view and create reports preferably no additional hardware because of the amount of channels. this is to record an operators every move so in events of damage or plant failure we can quickly identify the problem (point the finger) many thanks dan

Hello, I need to communicate Power meters ( GE Multilin EPM 5500P) to GE Multilin EnerVista Software. The present communication system uses Ethernet for communication from LAN Switch to Computer. There are a few existing Power Meters which need to be connected to the Network. The Meters having output ports as RS485. I need to use a convertor for that right. So when I contacted GE they told me to use GE Multilinet Serial to Ethernet Convertor. But due to the price and unavailability of the material I am thinking to use a universal convertor. Is that compatible for Multilin Devices?? and In Case of using a universal Convertor does we need any other drivers for that. Please Help Me.. PanelView 550 DH+ to RS232 or ENET converter?

I'm trying to connect a 2711-K5A8L1 FRN 3.13 PanelView 550 (DH+ three wire connector) to a 1747-L553 SER C REV C (RS232 and ENET). I read that I may need FRN 3.3 on the PanelView 550 to do a passthrough. This will be a dedicated connection with no other devices. The PanelView 550 has only the three wire DH+ connector and an RS232 printer port. I was trying to connect PanelBuilder 32 to the RS232 port and may only have PRINT and DOWNLOAD capability on this port. Is there an inexpensive way to connect the PanelView 550 and the PLC CPU? Something like the 1761-NET-AIC would be fine, but I did not see an option for DH+ .
