Hi, I was wondering if anyone have experience with Tia Portal Step7 v.14 and Step7 Classic v.5.5 located on a remote server? We have several persons working on our PLC's. As it is they all have their own PC with Step7 + licenses. We were thinking about moving the software environment onto a server to reduce license and maintenance costs. Does anyone else have this setup? If yes do you have any tips or comments? Pros/cons? I already know now that you cannot autodetect/configure new devices from a remote server as the Step7 detection protocol doesn't work through a router. We can live with that. We need both TIA Portal and the Step7 Classic on the same server. Thanks

Hi All, Can some one help me with prepare my HMI screen AVALUE 1503. On this moment there is only a bios on the screen. How can i put the additional software on the CCM flash card. i have TIA V13 software on my computer and i know how i must work in simulation mode with the HMI. I am searching now for a walk through for install the needed software on my HMI screen. Can not find it on the internet. Thanks in advance. Frans

Hi, Im trying to change the value of my external tag DB31, DW54. My plan is for the user to input the values in the I/O field and click a button to change the value of the external tag. My problem is I can only do it through left click event direct connection on the button but it can only change the value once. How do I do this dynamically in runtime? Thanks,

I have a project that run WinCC in a PC that has configuration: Core i5, RAM 4GB, HDD 500GB. WinCC connected to S7-1200. I built a runtime file, and set up Autostart in WinCC RT Start. At the beginning, it took about 1-2 minutes to open the runtime file, but now it takes me about 15 minutes to open it. In this project, I used VBscript to write data to database of Microsoft SQL 2008 in particular event. Can anyone give me some advise? -
Hi all, I had 2 sets of Wincc HMI, 1 is v5 and another is v7.2. In this case, is it possible to configure "alarm broadcast" to both HMI PC between v5 and v7.2 ? Alarm broadcast I meant was the when alarm trigger from v7.2 it will appear at v5 HMI as well. and able to acknowledge too. If possible, any advice without additional software and hardware?

I recently purchased a s7-1200 starter kit, a sm 1278 io-link modula and a io link linear sensor from turck. Un until now everything is installed and the sensor is cofigurated. Now the queastion is how do i get the value from the sensor into a tag in a datablock? As you can see in picture tia4 I started to fil in the device block but I could'nt figue everything out. I am working on a system with a siemens plc and HMI using TIA Portal V13 and WinCC. I wanted to remove to buttons from the HMI so the operator no longer has access to them. I removed them in the project (saved them on a temporary screen). When I uploaded the changes to the HMI, the buttons still exist. I also tried the simulator and I had the same results. Do I need to manually un-register the buttons somewhere? Also, I made a new screen and changed one of the screen change buttons to direct toward it. When testing it, a blank screen showed up instead of the screen that I directed it to. I have done a lot of plc/hmi programming in the past, but I have never experienced symptoms as such. I am new to the Siemens world. I have traditionally used AB products. Are there a lot of nuances with WinCC that I am unaware of? Kris

In my project I'm using a 312CPU, Article No.: 6ES7 312-1AE14-0AB0, Version: V3.3 & TP1500 Comfort, Article No.:6AV2 124-0QC02-0AX0, Version:13.0.1.0 My Issue: I've taken previously used FB from my Global library and inserted it into my new Project. In this FB I've declared an IEC Timer (TON) in the static section of the FB. When I go to upload to the PLC after TIA carries out the compilation I get error message 'Data type TON is not allowed here'. I've tried creating a new FB to test and had same issue for CTU,CTD,TOF. See attached pics This is really strange as it has always functioned before! Has anyone seen or heard of this issue before? I'd appreciate any help, Cheers. -
Hi, I am new to the forum and relatively new to PLC's and I am working on a project that controls several pumps and I would like to install a off delay timer that can be adjusted on the HMI for individual pumps, is this possible ? I am using Siemens TIA Portal V13 and I have a KP1200 comfort panel along with a S7-1500 PLC Any help would be greatly appreciated

Hi there! I`m a PLC programmer from Romania and i work in automotive industry. I know to program in Step 7 and in Codesys. I`ve been working with S7-300 from Siemens and Wago 750-881. I am also designing the electrical drawing for my project in a software called WSCAD. I am trying to leave abroad because i have a low salary here and i am wasting my knowledge. Can anyone give me an advice or help me with finding a normal paying job in plc programming? Thank you very much in advance and have a really nice day!

A few question about S7-1200 in TIA Portal, and Weintek communication

Hello! I have a PLC S7-1200 (1212C DC/DC/DC) and a few question about programming S7-1200 in TIA Portal v13. 1. I want to make "upload station", because I am not surre whichone project is the last. But, when I start upload data, the error hapens, and the decription of error is: The name of the station "S7-1200 Station_1" is already in use in the project. How and where can I change it? 2. And the last question: I try to connect my S7-1200 and Weintek simualtion. There is all time :"PLC not connected". I have chceck everything: PLC is OK, communication PC-PLC ok (ping ok), windows firewall off, administrator rights ok, configuration made with manuals, (CPU - Siemens S7-1200, IP: 192.168.1.100, port 102, tags import - ok.) I have read the manual many times, and check settings - nothing change. Maybe have someone problems like this, and found a solution? PLC: 6ES7212-1AE40-0XB0 WIndows: 7 Proffessional 32 bit Program: TIA Portal V13 Basics Weintek: EasyBuilder Pro V5.02.01 Best Regards! Andrzej.
