  1. hello everybody, can anybody help me? I have PLC= Q03UDVCPU, HMI=  HAKKO-FUJI electric V9100iC, Modbus sielco= SS3018 and thermocouple Type K. I want to making trend in HMI cotinuously with TC type K and modbus SS3018. I attact what connecting I have to do.. but I dont understand what should I insert address in configuration trend on HMI. I've checked address with modbus poll (SS3018 with uport rs485 to TC type K), and I get address number 14 which stored the data result of temperature.. what should I setting for connected the TC to HMI?  
  2. CP1L connected with scanner symbol DS-4308 reading 2D data matrix,  with RS-232 on board CP1W-CIF01 Hi all, need some help because I can't read the information. Let me explain, I have a PLC, " CP1L-L14DR-D " with a RS-232 option borad " CP1W-CIF01 " , a scanner Symbol DS-4308, and I'm trying to read a data matrix 2d barcode (I don't know if that matters). so I build a cable with the next configuration, (one side male and the other female) PORT CONFIG PIN OUT SCANNER CABLE RJ-50 TO RS-232 PINOUT Maybe I'm missing a connection? a bridge? power supply ? ground?   in the program, I only have this to check the communication,       When my reception flag complete (A392.06), my instruction RXD is going to execcute, reading in D1500 the data. if is any error in communication (A392.04) or overflow (A392.07), my port is going to restart (A526.00) (ignore w0.03) with the followign config: (9600, 7,2,E, RS-232C, End code: Received Bytes 3       and I'm reading only, data on D1500 and D1501, and the data makes no sense.   with the configuration of End Code: CR, LF,          can't make it work, I read nothing. and if I change the END CODE: Received bytes to 4,      don't work. and my flag A392.04 go to ON.   PLC HAS 4 PIN SWITCH, ALL ARE OFF The configuration on the scanner is setting to default and then config to RS-232 Standard.   So, what I'm missing?  bad connections? plc don't support? scanner config? program?      
  3. I'm testing installation of a custom-built machine. The equipment is at room temperature of about 19°C for a couple of weeks but the PLC is reading 25 to 29°C from the J-type thermocouple inputs. I suspect the machine builder has used copper cable to wire the thermocouples back to the I/O point. He has also used what appear to be regular M12 connectors to make the connection. Configuration of the input module does not appear to be correct. We're in 50Hz-land. I can't find any wiring instructions in the A-B documentation but I suspect that we should at least be using compensating cable and proper J-type connectors near the heater zones. Any pointers?
  4. Rockwell 1756-IRT8I

    I'm using three 1756-IRT8I's.  This is a test application.  Of the possible 24 TC inputs, they may use any one of the inputs or only 1.  One TC is required on the first card input 0.  The reset of the points may or may not be used.  I do not see a built in bit that indicates whether or not a TC is connected.  Should I just look at the under range bit?
  5. Socket communication with Micro820

    Hi everyone ! I have a little project wich involves communication between two Micro820 controllers via TCP/IP. To do that, I started to work with TCP/IP socket. Within CCW (Connected Components Workbench), I tried to create a new socket instance using the instruction SOCKET_CREATE and set the socket address to Basically, my computer through the FTP port. The problem was that it couldn't create a new socket instance (error variable is set to TRUE and status is set to 4, wich I don't know the meaning) because I didn't have a server-side application that listens to TCP/IP socket requests. That said, I found an open source application called SocketTest that listens for TCP/IP socket requests on a specified IP address and port. So, I started a listener on the following address :, but the error variable is still set to TRUE and status is still set to 4. So, my questions are : Is my IP address OK ? Is my port number OK ? What means the status code 4 ? Is SocketTest doing what I think it does ? Do I need to do something else before using the SOCKET_CREATE instruction ? Thank you in advance for your help !
  6. Can't connect to Micro820 controller via CCW

    Hi everybody, Recently, I started working on a project. I want to develop a program for a Micro820 controller (2080-LC20-20AWB) using CCW (Connected Components Workbench). I built a little motor circuit for testing purpose. However, after building the program and downloading it to the controller, I tried to connect to my controller via CCW, but I can't. When I click the button "Connect", CWW crashes OR a window saying : "The controller has unnacepted changes" appears and asks me if I want to "Download current project to the controller" (wich I already did) or "Upload the project in the controller to overwrite current project content" (wich is grayed out). When I choose to "Download current project to the controller", CCW starts downloading the resource, but fails. In the "Output" window, there's a line saying : "Download failed for Device:Micro820: An error occured while reading from GETACTIVERESOURCELIST.". The problem is that there's no documentation at all concerning this error. I even tried to reinstall CCW, but it didn't fix the problem. I joined some images so you guys can see what I'm talking about. Don't mind asking for more details !
  7. Converting UINT to DINT

    Good afternoon,   I need to convert a UINT (16-bit unsigned integer) to a DINT ( 32-bit signed integer).   Apparently we can't directly assign a UINT variable's value to a DINT's or vice versa. I also couldn't find a way of casting UINT as DINT.   The reason why I need to do it is because I'm receiving data from a socket. The RXLength is a UINT but in order to scroll through  the data array (USINT[1..1])  I need to use a DINT as the array's index, but I can't compare the array index to the array's length because they are incompatible types.   Is there a cast statement similar to:       myDINTvar := (DINT) myUINTvar;   I also tried the following but it didn't work:       myDINTvar :=  (myUINTvar * 1);   Any help will be deeply appreciated.   
  8. Hi all I am setting up a batch tank system, I have 1 pump which can pump to six different tanks(via pneumatic actuated valves). This is my first go with a HMI, usually I would use a multiple position switch. Is it possible to make a six position selector switch with a HMI? I am using a AB Panel-View 800, has anyone done this before? Any help would be appreciated.
  9. Help Programming a Beckhoff PLC

    I have a very simple problem that I need help with.  I have some programming experience but I am brand new to PLCs and structured text.  I am using TwinCat 3 to program a Beckhoff CX9020.  My goal is to read the temperature from my thermocouple and open or close a valve based on the temperature.  I have successfully connected the PLC to the TwinCat software and I am able to see the value of the thermocouple increase and decrease when I touch it with my fingers.  I need to link that value to a variable in my code so I can have the valve act on it.  I don't know how to properly address the inputs and outputs.  Thank you!
  10. Micro 830 RTC programming

    Hi all,  Can someone please help me, I am using a Micro830 Controller running connected components workbench software to program the controller. I want the use the Real Time Clock of the controller to control an output to turn on everyday at 01:30am and turn of when it receives a signal from an input. The output will control a backwash valve that will operate and activate a cam switch internally that sends a signal back to the Controller to say the valve has operated and can now stop sending the signal to the valve. (if that makes sense). I have tried playing around with the RTC instructions but I cannot seem to get it to operate how I want it to. Any help would be much appreciated. EnvrioService

Hey all, i have a friend with an application where he has a "black box" which is comprised of a heater and a thermocouple (4 wires coming out in total). he's using a B&R digital output module to turn the heater on (i.e. give it 24V) and a thermocouple module to read the temperature from the TC sensor. with one of these "black boxes" he has encountered a strange phenomenon - once the reading from the thermocouple reaches a certain temperature (and the digital output giving power to the heater from that same "black box" is still on), instead of climbing, the temperature reading begins to drop. Once the output from that same "black box" is turned off - the temperature reading jumps to what it was supposed to show if it hadn't dropped. other than a defective sensor ("black box" was changed and the phenomenon stayed), do you have any other explanation for why this would happen?   Thanks.    
  12. Hello, I am new to the connected components workbench software. I am working with an AB panelview component Hmi and would like to create numeric buttons to load integers into user variables in a schnieder LMD servo motor. The motor uses Modbus TCP to communicate. It appears that if I click on the numeric buttons properties there is a "Write Tag" of which you can use some default tags or create a new one. I am assuming that I need to create a new one with the motor's addressing but I'm not quite sure how to accomplish this. Any help would be much appreciated!!! Thanks, Steve   
  13. Timer/Counter

    Here's what I'm trying to do. when switch closes turn on output for 1 scan, starts a 10 minute time and counter, so that when time reaches 10 minute it will turn on output again for 1 scan and count another count, timer resets and counts another 10 minutes and turns output on again for 1 scan, and count another count when count gets to 5 this process is complete. I can do this in RSlogix500 with a micrologix 1100 but can't seem to get it working with the Micro800 and connected component workbench.

I'm new to Omron, and after several days of diving into manuals trying to figure this out on my own and giving myself a headache I've come to accept that i need help. my task is the following: Control of the discrete and analog inputs/outputs in a DeviceNet system using an Omron CJ1M PLC’s and PT’s. Use at least one thermocouple, one analog input, and one analog output for the DeviceNet network. Use a pushbutton and a light for the start of the process and an indicator for the started process. I have a Drt1-Ad04 input, a Drt1-ad02 output, and a Drt1-ts04t temperature control. My devicenet is Cj1w-drm21, The Omron system itself is a cj1m-cpu13 etn21. I have node addresses for my input, outputs and temperature control, those being 35 for input, 25 or 30 for output and for temperature control 5, 15, or 20. The ip address im using for this project is'm using Cx programmer, Designer and Integrator. On Cx programmer I've managed to create an IO table but i have no idea on how to begin the program or even get a current reading from my generator.On Designer I've made what i believe to be the layout of the pushbuttons, I just have no idea of what addresses to enter.And on integrator i'm having troubles on figuring out how to make a routing table. I've went through many manuals and either i'm missing something really basic here or I just have no idea on what I'm doing. The only advice I was given was to dive into more manuals and find my addresses for my inputs, outputs, and temperature or to find the information from an outside source be that a forum or customer service. I am able to provide more information, and screenshots of what I have done if needed. Any kind of help would be greatly appreciated!
  15. Simple Heating Circuit

    Good morning....I am new to mr plc. and new to setting up a heating circuit I am experiencing an issue with setting up a very simple heating circuit using AB Compactlogix 5370 , 1734-IT2I t'couple card, k type t'couple System is simple Setpoint 300 F high limit 305 F low limit 295 F I want to turn the heater on and have the PID cycle the contactor as necessary to reach and maintain desired set-point does anyone have any sample logic? Do I need to mess with gains? Thanks!
